My Healthy Journey

Monday, September 1, 2014:  So as I was hiking this morning (yes, I started my “resolution” this morning) I thought about adding this page to my blog in order to focus on my health goals, and keep myself and others updated about how I am doing.

So please – “follow” this blog, because if I know people are watching I am more likely to keep up the good habits that I am developing.  And I will post each weekend about my progress that week, so stay tuned and keep coming back!

So here are my starting measurements, as of today:  Weight – 185 lbs; Bust – 42″; Waist – 39″; Hips – 45″; Thigh – 21.5″; Upper Arm – 12″

In the meantime (until Saturday, Sept. 6th), here’s a poll to keep you occupied:

Saturday, September 6, 2014:

Hey there.  Well, it ‘s been a week since I started my “health journey” with my Labor Day Resolutions, and it’s time to see if I have any results over the past week.  (You can read about my resolutions here.)

So here are the results:  My weight is down 1.5 lbs and I lost 1/2 inch in my hips!  Whoop whoop!  I am proud of myself, and didn’t really expect the 1.5 lbs drop in weight; maybe 1/2 lb or something, but 1.5 lbs is great.  And the 1/2 inch loss in the hips – nice!  Gets me excited to keep going on this health journey.  🙂

Time for another update to my health journey, and with surprising results for this week.  See, I didn’t feel like I did very well this week.  I was only able to hike for 3 days out of the 5 that were my goal, and I only drank my goal amount of water for about half the days this past week.  So I was not too excited about taking my measurements and stepping on the scales this morning.  But I figured I had better get it over with and face the disappointment.

First the measurements; everything was pretty much the same – no changes in almost all my measurements – but there was a definite 1/2 inch missing from my waist.  Huh.  Surprising, but I will take it.  🙂

Then the scales.  Ugh.  Three times I step on the scales, read the number, and step off the scales.  Three times the number reads the same:  181.5  A two pound loss!  This is amazing!  Certainly unexpected.  Wow, this stuff is really working.  🙂

So now I am more energized than ever to keep moving forward on my health journey.  My body is changing, and in a good way.  So what is your journey?  Like me, are you trying to lose weight/get healthy?  Share with me what you have going on right now, and we can encourage each other.
